Leírás és Paraméterek
In this volume, researchers from seven countries investigate metalwork and metalworkers in the European territories of the former Ottoman Empire, from the Middle Ages up until today. While individually the studies focus on specific aspects of metalwork in the region, together they give a remarkably broad overview of the subject as a whole. In the pages of this book, the reader is introduced to products in an area stretching from Slovakia to Greece and from Bosnia through Bulgaria to the imperial capital Istanbul. The pieces discussed range from everyday copperware items to splendid masterpieces of goldsmiths’ art. The last mentioned include vessels for liturgical use, but also artifacts made for the Ottoman court.
