Musical Traditions

The author is ethnochoreologist, senior resercher at the Folk Dance Department of the Institute of Musicology, Research Centre for the Humanities, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, titular professor of the Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology Department of the Szeged University, Chair of the ICTM Study Group on Ethnochoreology, president of the Society of Hungarian Ethnochoreologists. His research activities focus on the dance tradition of the Carpathian-Basin and that of the Volga–Kama–Belaja Region in Russia. Shorter field trips have been made to Turkey, Bulgaria, former Jugoslavia, and Moldavian Republic.
