KlappentextThe fourth volume of the series is a special one, because it is dedicated to the long-time researcher of Keszthely-Fenékpuszta, Róbert Müller, and it is the first one to include the prehistory of Keszthely and the entire Balaton Region. The book is organised in a chronological way so that three papers on new finds and features of the Neolithic, the Chalcolithic, and the Iron Age are followed by six analyses of Roman finds on and near Lake Balaton, amongst them an equestrian grave, a gravestone with the representation of a calo/groom and an inscription, box fittings made of bronze, an Early Christian mausoleum, a bronze belt fitting, and iron tools. Next there are six articles dealing with topics from the Migration Period to the Middle Ages, that is the Early Migration Period cemetery at Fonyód, a disc brooch and a box brooch, the Benedictine Abbey of Zalavár, the Franciscan Monastery at Kanizsa, and the biography of the excavator of the cemeteries of Keszthely, Vilmos Lipp. The volume ends with five natural scientific papers on anthropology, on palaeoecology, on landscape archaeology, and on archaeobotany.
